Detoxify with a Brown Rice Diet

A brown rice detox is one of the easiest forms of detoxing for many people because it gives sustained nourishment, detoxes the body slowly (thus causing little or no detox side effects) and doesn’t require fasting from food as a juice fast can.

In the brown rice diet detox program, you only consume brown rice for two to seven days. You don’t have to worry about being hungry or developing jitters or low energy. You can season your brown rice with Bragg’s Liquid Amino Acids, similar to soy sauce but much healthier since it only contains natural sodium. A little miso with ginger and garlic will add diversity to your brown rice diet. Other herbs for flavoring are also acceptable, but be sure not to overdo it. For a little metabolism boost, add a pinch of chilli pepper pepper. You can also use a little agave nectar, maple syrup or brown rice syrup for a slightly sweet alternative. But only do this once a day, if at all.

In order to maintain good blood sugar levels, eat five small portions of brown rice during the day. For convenience, you can make one or two day’s worth of brown rice at one time. Here’s how to cook brown rice.

Be sure to have three to four quarts of water a day. Include herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a wonderful detoxifying tea, red clover tea will support body detoxification and a laxative tea at bedtime will keep your colon moving.
