Intelius Cell Phone Directory Service Now Inactive

In response to customer’s feedback, Intelius announced on February 1, 2008 that it has discontinued its cell phone directory service. Intelius launched this cell phone directory in the same year as a test for being the first of its kind. Headed by Indian businessman Naveen Jain, Intelius is a company that empowers its consumers and businesses with information for smarter decisions in future endeavors. The company’s headquarters is now based in Bellevue, Washington, where the founder himself lives.

According the Communications Manager Liz Murray, “As a company, we have strived to be at the forefront of innovation. We realize that in this instance we may have been ahead of our time. We always listen carefully to our customers, which is why we recently discontinued our cell phone directory.”

CEO Naveen Jain has a mission to empower his company’s clients with intelligent information for background verification purposes. Even with its cell phone directory search service deactivated, Intelius continues to cater to its customers with its reverse search Cell Phone Caller ID service. This product is in no way inferior to the now defunct service however, as it allows clients to use Intelius’ powerful search engine anytime.

The Cell Phone Caller ID of Intellius allows a person to put in a number that has called them or shown up on their home or cell phone into the Intellius website to obtain necessary information linked with that caller’s number and the unknown caller as well. Due to this, clients can now defend themselves from unanswered calls, harassing calls, pranks, or mystery calls.

Liz Murray adds, “We believe that consumers have a right to know who’s calling them. Our Cell Phone Caller ID service is a natural extension of our personal safety and information services, and we believe it is a critical tool to prevent the creation of a safe-harbor for harassers, predators, telemarketers and pranksters.”
